Hardware GPS Tracking
Hardware GPS Unit Tracking
Put purpose-built vehicle GPS trackers directly on your Resgrid map. Ingest positions natively over HTTPS or a first-party socket gateway for Teltonika, Queclink, and Jimi/Concox hardware — or bridge any device through Traccar. No mobile app required in the vehicle.

Four Ways In, One Canonical Pipeline
Native HTTPS, a first-party TCP/UDP gateway, managed manufacturer connectors, and Traccar all normalize into a single, durable Resgrid location pipeline.
Track Without the App
Bind a hardware GPS tracker to a Resgrid Unit and see it move on the same maps your dispatchers and incident commanders already use — no phone, tablet, or the Unit app required in the vehicle.
Native HTTPS Ingest
Any device or customer-controlled service that can POST Resgrid's documented JSON position contract streams straight into the platform over authenticated HTTPS.
Native TCP/UDP Gateway
A first-party Resgrid socket gateway speaks the Teltonika, Queclink, and Jimi/Concox protocol families directly — twenty current vehicle-tracker models with no third-party server in the middle.
Managed HTTPS Connectors
Already using a manufacturer device-management portal? Digital Matter's Device Manager converts device traffic to JSON and forwards it to Resgrid — no gateway to run.
Traccar Breadth Path
For long-tail or unsupported hardware, Resgrid's traccar-json-v1 adapter accepts processed position forwarding from a Traccar server, opening the door to hundreds of additional device models.
Position, Fix Quality & Health
Beyond coordinates, Resgrid ingests fix validity, speed, heading, accuracy, satellite count, HDOP, battery, power, ignition, and motion — plus device-originated alarms.
One Tracker, One Unit, Live on the Map
Hardware GPS tracking extends Resgrid's Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) to purpose-built vehicle trackers. Each hardware device is bound to exactly one Resgrid Unit at a time, so its live and buffered positions flow into the same realtime map, dispatch screens, and IC command board your team already relies on. Perfect for apparatus, chief vehicles, support trucks, and emergency-management assets that don't run a mobile app.
- Bind a tracker to a Unit and configure it with generated instructions
- Live and buffered GPS positions replay into the existing Resgrid map
- Works for fire, EMS, search-and-rescue, and emergency-management fleets
- No requirement to keep a phone or the Unit app running in the cab
- Disabling or rotating a device credential takes effect within 60 seconds
- Ships in Resgrid's Apache 2.0 self-hosted and Docker distribution

Certified Native Protocol Families
Resgrid implements protocol families — not one-off decoders — so a single native module covers many models. Wave 1 certifies ten current LTE/LTE-M trackers for North America and Europe, and Wave 2 adds ten more that reuse the same modules and listener ports. Every device is certification-gated by model and firmware, so only fully certified profiles appear as supported.
- Teltonika Codec8 / Codec8 Extended — FMC920, FMM920, FMC130, FMM130, FMC003 and more
- Queclink @Track — GV57MG, GV350MG, GV500MA
- Jimi/Concox GT06 — VL103M, JM-VL03 and the JM-VL0x family
- Twenty vehicle-tracker models across three protocol families
- Compact wired, advanced I/O, and OBD installation types
- Certification states from Candidate to Certified — only Certified ships as supported
Traccar Forwarding for Everything Else
When a device isn't on the native catalog, Traccar bridges the gap. Point a Traccar server's processed-position JSON forwarding at a Resgrid tracking binding and positions land in the same durable pipeline. The adapter is pinned to a known Traccar version, validated against the device binding, and idempotent, so replayed or buffered reports never create duplicate positions.
- traccar-json-v1 adapter accepts Traccar's processed position forwarding
- Per-device capability URLs keep credentials scoped to one binding
- Retry-aware delivery — Resgrid returns 202 only after durable queue acceptance
- Deterministic event IDs make repeated delivery idempotent
- Traccar speed (knots) normalized to Resgrid's canonical position contract
- Opens the platform to hundreds of long-tail and legacy device models

Hardware Positions Everywhere You Already Work
Tracker data feeds the same AVL, mapping, dispatch, and incident command surfaces as your mobile units — and is fully available in the self-hosted distribution.
